All the music pieces, represented in this edition, are not complicated, but very different by their nature. Among them there are both the pieces of polyphonic and singing type. Notwithstanding their small size, they are overfilled with charming poetry, and everywhere the hand of a matured master and his own style is present. These are harmonic and melodic peculiarities, free modulations and changeable tunes. Louis Vierne, a French famous organist and a contemporary of César Franck said, that " ...the generosity of Franck's invention is really wonderful: the polyphony which is incomparable due to its richness, in which the melody, harmony and architectonics compete in their originality , the unique finding, inspired by the spark of his genius talent."
